In the fall, I will have both of my children in school all day. I have been a stay at home mom since my son was born almost 8 years ago, but the time is coming for me to either get a job, go back to school, or both. Today I spent a bunch of time researching scholarships for school since I cannot afford school without a second income. From what I read, it's pretty tough to get a scholarship if you are not coming directly from high school, or a returning student. Since I will be neither of those, I'm not sure if I can pull it off. I do know that I don't want to end up cleaning hotel rooms or becoming a waitress! I'm crossing my fingers that I can figure it all out before the fall semester begins.

so is there a school nearby? Or will you do it via the internet?
Yes, surprisingly we do have The Great Basin College. The main Campus is in Elko, but our smaller campus here in Ely does offer some decent classes, and anything that they do not offer, I can take online through the Elko campus.
What are you going to "major" in? Are you going to continue with your old dream of psych or do something different?
I think the best thing to do would be to nix the psych idea for now, and go for teaching so that I can be as close to the kids schedual as I can. I think I would like to teach Kin. or 1st grade.
You'd be good at that. Some of your psych classes will help. Maybe subbing will help get you some money to get you started and some experience to see if it's the right choice for you.
